All workshops are beginners friendly, unless stated otherwise.  Prices include all materials as well as refreshments.  Payment is required at time of booking either by visiting The Art Room, phoning Emma on 07834228054, or emailing and asking for the details to perform a transfer.

Needle felt Easter Decorations and cards

Design fantastic wool creations using raw carded wool and a special barbed needle. It's simple, inexpensive, and you can fashion just about anything you can imagine. Start small until you get the hang of needle felting...






Felt Art with Fiona Moir

Fiona will demonstrate how she works when wet felting and guide you through the process of creating your own piece of felt art using a range of wools and silks. This is a beautifully vibrant approach to making images and is an exciting alternative from the more common use of pencils, pastels and paint.






Advanced furniture makeover techniques 1,

Kirsten (of mala Interiors) will be covering the

techniques of decoupage, stencilling and image

transfer in this workshop.  All with the lovely

range of Frenchic products of course!

Trichinopoly (Viking Knitting) with Simon Lidwell

Trichinopoly, aka Viking Knitting, uses ordinary household tools to transform scrap metal intosomething of remarkable beauty.  Learn to make jewellery using this thousand year old t echnique, turning “many hairs” of wire into a brilliant, intricate bracelet to give to a loved one or keep for yourself!







Beginners Crochet  with Sue Hall

This workshop is perfect for complete beginners looking to learn basic stitches, how to read patterns and charts, and how to "talk crochet".       If there’s time, you might also be able to make a small gift bag or a coaster too...  This class is an introduction to this adaptable,   flexible skill and you’ll receive a starter pack as well as various                                                                            












Introduction to Calligraphy

Learn to draw sounds. This workshop is an  introduction to the earliest forms

of writing in the British isles. It is also a chance to experience using modern writing equipment  in a more intentional way. 

A chance to write letters as beautiful as your thoughts.






Crochet  Hearts and flowers!

Hearts and flowers is a new crochet class for  the Art Room! Ideal for improving your. crochet skills and being a bit more creative, you'll be making these sweet little hearts and flowers that you can use in hundreds of different ways.  The 2 hour class includes a free goody bag with all your yarn, hooks and instructions for you to use in class and take away afterwards.  And let's not forget tea, cake and a whole lot of fun!

All day basket making

The very talented Fiona will share her years of willow weaving  experience to teach you how to weave,You will find out how the willow is prepared and be taken through all of the stages to make your own basket,

Beginning A Painting...& Beyond

A white canvas can be a very intimidating thing...  which is why a simple guide to follow can be useful, to voyage onwards with confidence. You'll be taken through this step-by-step process and meet colour mixing, tone & texture along the way. By the end of session two you should be well on the way with your oil painting, but extra time and help can be arranged if the time flies too much. These sessions are for beginners or those who need some extra inspiration in picking up art again. All materials will be provided.
